Senior photos for the nontraditional person

Tradition isn’t something I hold on to very much over here. In fact, I like to shake things up and keep trying new things often.

So when I get requests to do something different or told that “my kid does not like…” I get excited. That means I get to do something different. Something new and fun.

So when I was told by my client that her son isn’t big on smiles and is a little bit more on the moody side, I said ok… let’s go!

I tried several things with him to see what made him happy. From darker/moody light to spooky spots. They all seemed to really fit him but what really light him up was… fire.

The fact that he could hold it, how it lit up the area and looked really cool next to him was the biggest win.

A person in a hoodie stands in a dimly lit room, holding a bright flame in their open hand. The image has a dramatic, moody atmosphere.

A young person with short dark hair, wearing a gray Nike hoodie, smiles warmly. The black-and-white portrait conveys a friendly and relaxed mood.

We did get a smile in too ;)

Are these super nontraditional and a little different? Absolutely. But I love them and they truly reflect the person they were for. And that is really what matters.

Have a nontraditional Senior? Send them my way. We will make something awesome happen that fits them perfectly.
