Maternity Session at Ault Park

Sometimes the simplest sessions are the best sessions.

My client and I met up at Ault Park to do some glowy maternity shots. You know the kind — where the sun is at that perfect spot and just makes everything look like it's glowing from the inside out. Golden hour at Ault Park is honestly unbeatable. The light comes through the trees and wraps around everything in this warm, dreamy way that you just can't recreate in a studio.

We met at some of my favorite little hidden spots around the park and got to work. That's one of the things I love about shooting at Ault Park — most people only know the pavilion and the main gardens, but there are so many tucked-away paths and clearings that feel completely private. It never feels crowded, even on a nice day.

For this session we kept everything simple and natural. No elaborate props, no complicated wardrobe changes. Just a beautiful mama, gorgeous light, and a location that did all the heavy lifting. Sometimes that's all you need. When the light is right and the person in front of the camera feels comfortable, the photos practically take themselves.

Ault Park is one of my go-to spots for outdoor maternity sessions in Cincinnati. It gives you a mix of options in one location — stone architecture, open green spaces, tree-lined paths, and flower gardens depending on the season. It works for mamas who want something earthy and natural just as well as it does for someone going for something a little more polished.

If you're thinking about booking a maternity session, I usually recommend scheduling between 28 and 34 weeks. That's the sweet spot where your bump is beautifully visible but you're still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the experience. And if you're wondering what to wear, don't stress — I'll help you plan everything during our consultation call.

Maternity sessions start at $350 and I offer both studio and on-location options across the Cincinnati area. Want to do your own golden hour session at Ault Park or another favorite spot? Send me a message and let's plan it.
