One of the coolest things about doing an event like Walk on Woodburn or Second Sunday on the Main is that I get to talk to people. I get to hear first hand the questions they have right as they are having them and answer it right then and there.
One of the big questions I get quite often is how does a dream session actually work. As in what is the full process from start to finish.
Since a Dream Session is unlike any other photography session you've ever booked and nothing like anything offered in this area, I thought this was the perfect time to really go in detail of it all.
so let's get down to it and start out with what is a Dream Session Anyway?
A Dream Session is for someone who has a unique idea or concept that they are looking to capture in a one of a kind image that they can get now where else. Each session usually requires special costumes, hair and makeup, set design and help from my good friend Photoshop.
Dream Sessions can be anything you want them to be. If you want to see what it would look like if you had the power to fly among the tops of the mountains, become tiny enough to ride on the backs of your toys or maybe meet unicorn's or become a mermaid, I can make it happen for you.
It's all about what you want as each Dream Session is tailored to you and your needs.
To get your booking process started all you have to do is click Book a Session on the top navigation tabs of my website. You'll be taken to a screen that shows the three session types I offer. Dream Session's are at the top.
You'll first be prompted to choose a time and date on when we plan your session. If you don't have an idea yet, that's ok! We will brainstorm up something for you during that time and plan out what it is that you are looking for down to the color of your shoes.
If you already have something in mind, we will go over in detail every aspect of your session and sketch out what your final hero image will look like- mind you it will be in stick figures because I can't draw very well.
Next is the time where you sit back and wait till the day of your shoot while I start working on whatever I need to to make the magic happen. This means I may be hand making your costumes, researching locations or information for your shoot.
Dream Sessions are very in depth when you get down to it. I want every aspect of what you want to be true to detail and look as realistic as I can possibly get it. This may mean that I send out a dress to be custom made for you and the best part is 80% of the costumes I make, you get to keep after! Why? Because I don't want to reuse your specially made costume on someone else's shoot. Each one is unique as you are!
When shoot day comes you'll meet me and my team at a special location where you will be all dolled up to play the part of whatever it is you've chosen. I have an amazing team of hair and makeup artists that I've hand picked just for things like this.
While they are getting you ready, I'll be off fixing your set to make sure it's ready to go when you're done.
When the session is over. I get started on editing your images. This process can take some time but it's worth it in the end. Once they are done, you'll be invited to my studio or location of your choice for your image revile.
Here is where you can bring the whole fam to see the amazing magic we created together.
Each Dream Session is an experience you won't forget and definitely worth doing at least once in your life.
