I've been told warmer weather is on it's way in, no matter how hard winter keeps trying to keep its cold snowy hands on us. And with warmer weather, that means it is time to start thinking about some of the amazing fun that can be had in the summer!
Sure, swimming, bike riding, and baseball games are all excellent summer activities but my real favorite summer activity is.... PAINT FIGHTS
It's messy. It's colorful, but most of all, it's FUN and an experience you won't forget.
I've had a lot of people come to me for paint fight sessions over the past couple years. Some do it as a couples date night, sometimes it's a group of friends and occasionally it's an entire family looking to get some creative family portraits for the year.
No matter who it is or the reason, I can guarantee it will be an amazing time had by all.
Now that I have you excited and you thinking about all the possibilities of a paint fight portrait let me share with you everything you'll need to make it the best day ever!
1. A great outfit.
This can be whatever you want it to be. I've had couples show up in full on prom outfits or wedding dresses to give a new look to their outfits in a very Trash The Dress fashion. If that's not your thing and you're thinking more traditional, try a plain white tee. You'll splash some color on it and it's a great keepsake for after.
2. BRIGHT COLORED PAINT!
Sure, you can use whatever color you want but a good mix of neon colors on any color outfit are definitely going to pop in any photos you take of the fight itself. AND look rad on your outfit after.
3. A change of clothes.
Yes, this is way more practical but it's important. You probably don't want to ride home all painted and get it all over your car. ( Trust me, It's happened to me and there is still paint on my car in some very unusual spots and I'm not sure how it got there.)
If you don't want to do a change of clothes and plan on rocking your freshly painted look out into public, remember to trash bag your car seats first ;)
4. A badass photographer. ( Hi! How's it going ;) - Badass photographer over here)
You definitely NEED someone to capture the moments of this. While you're out there having fun throwing paint on mom or your bff... husband, someone has to be there to document your experience. You'll be thankful you did when you see the action shots of paint flying in the air and everyones happy faces showing real genuine emotion.
5. A place to clean up
Don't worry, it's pretty easy to clean up after. All you need is a hose and some music to dance too. It may even turn into a water fight if you're not careful ( and that is also a pretty great set of images to have after the fact)
It's also important to note you CAN make rules like- No paint above the neck to keep it out of your hair... However, that does take away from some of the fun.
So if that sounds fun to you and you've been looking for something out of the ordinary to do this summer, try a paint fight! Better yet, book a paint fight session with me!
